A Brief Travel Checklist You Should Always Remember

When it comes to traveling there is a lot to think about, and in the hours before you leave your home to go to the airport, it can be easy to get flustered and forget things. This is why it’s important to be organized when it comes to traveling and avoid leaving things until the last minute. If you want to avoid panicking at the airport because you have forgotten something important or you’re running late for your flight, here is a brief travel checklist you should run through before you leave the house.

Do You Have All the Right Documents?

If you want to be able to board the plane, you’re going to need your passport, boarding passes, and if you’re traveling to a country where you need a visa to get in, you’ll need to remember to bring that with you, too. Triple check that you have all the accurate documents for both your departure and your returning flights and then put them somewhere safe such as in a zipped pocket in your bag or a travel wallet. You might also want to print off spare copies just in case the others get damaged or lost.

Have You Booked a Taxi to the Airport?

If you’re taking a taxi to the airport, you should book it in advance. The majority of the time calling a cab on the day won’t be a problem, but if there is no availability at the time you need to be picked up this could be disastrous and result in you being late for your flight. This is another reason why you should give yourself at least two to three hours to get to the airport before your scheduled flight. If you are taking your car to the airport and no one is driving it back for you, you’ll also need to reserve a space at the airport long stay car park. You can do this via websites such as Parkon.com.

Do You Have the Essentials?

Double-check your suitcase to make sure that you have all the essentials you’ll need for your travels. For example, having the right adapter for electrical outlets, making sure that any liquids in your carry-on are only 100ml, you have your toothbrush, toiletries, money in the correct currency, or any medication you might need and so on. Some things you will be able to purchase at your destination or the airport if you do forget, but why waste the money or your time doing this if you already have these things at home?

Emergency Contact Numbers

People should be able to contact you on your phone or via messaging apps, but in case you can’t get cell service where you are, it’s a good idea to share other ways of contacting you with your loved ones. If you’re staying at a hotel, then give them the phone number for emergencies, as well as the details of your flight to and from your destination.

If you are planning to travel any time soon, make sure that you are using this quick checklist so you don’t forget the important things you will need to help your journey go smoothly.
